| The 2003 shiraz class had 209 entries, in which just 5 golds were presented, the others being Majella Wines (Coonawarra), Sugarloaf Creek Estate (Broadford, Vic), Jacobs Creek Centenary Hill Barossa Shiraz (Barossa), and Peppertree Wines Grand Reserve Wrattonbully Shiraz (Hunter winery, South-east of SA wine). The latter won 2 trophies.
Previous gold medals won by this wine this year have been at the Cairns Wine Show, the Winewise Small Vignerons Wine Awards, and the Ballarat Wine Show.
The 2004 Mafeking Shiraz picked up a bronze. |
