2004 Mafeking Unwooded Chardonnay

Bright yellow with a hint of green, this unwooded Chardonnay exhibits restrained aromas of white pears and peaches underscored by cut grass freshness. The light bodied palate is lively and fresh, and shows minerals, mandarins and hints of flowers. Made to be enjoyed as a young wine, the refreshing acid twist makes you yearn for a freshly shucked oyster. Consume until 2007.

2003 Mafeking Gold Chardonnay

The bright mid-gold hue of the 2003 Mafeking Gold Chardonnay hints at the restraint that is shown on the nose. Here the restrained aromas are of grapefruits, white peaches and toffeed macadamia nuts. The mid weight palate is lively and fresh and exhibits persistent flavours of grapefruit, nuts and well-handled oak. This wine is harmonious now and will maintain its freshness until 2008.

Serving suggestion: Honeyed chicken
Statistics:  13.5% alc, French oak.

2002 Mafeking Gold Chardonnay

An extremely cold summer in 2002 produced an elongated ripening period, producing a wine which will age well. Deep straw in colour, overtones of peach and melon, and a fulsome smooth finish. Highly rated, cellar 7 years.

Serving suggestion: Barramundi
Statistics:  14% alc, French oak.
Awards: 2 silver medals.
